Voting machines are ‘flipping’ votes? Here’s what’s actually happening.

Claims about voting machines swapping or “flipping” voters’ choices are again going viral as early voting continues during the 2026 midterm elections.

The claims have surfaced in multiple states.

“There is a very disturbing trend being seen in early voting,” read a Facebook post from the liberal group “The Other 98%.” “Texas, Florida, Tennessee, Ohio are reporting difficulties getting the machines to accept Democratic votes. The machines change them back to Republican unless the voter persists, pressing several times to get the correct vote to go through.”
