Trump’s latest attack on James Talarico involves veganism, barbecue and vomiting. Here are the facts.

The Texas Democrat once advocated for reducing meat consumption. Trump has turned that into a recurring rally line unsupported by evidence.

The way President Donald Trump tells it, the issue that sizzles in the Texas U.S. Senate battle is a gross tale about Democrat James Talarico.

The president has regurgitated this story more than a half dozen times, including at the September Republican convention in Texas and October appearances in Oklahoma, Alabama, Texas and Nebraska.

At an Oct. 2 Mobile, Alabama, rally, Trump didn’t name Talarico but called him “the guy from Texas who’s — he’s a vegan, but now … he’s eating meat like a pig.”
