Trump’s comments on Robert Mueller’s death drew swift condemnation, while some allies ignored it or offered cover

In a remarkable display of brazenness and disrespect unbecoming of anyone, let alone the president of the United States, Donald Trump on Saturday celebrated the death of former FBI director Robert Mueller, who died Friday at the age of 81.

When news of Mueller’s death broke on Saturday, Trump took to his Truth Social and posted, “Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people!”

As a special counsel, Mueller investigated Russian interference in Trump’s 2016 presidential election.
