Trump broke into prime time with a speech that broke little news
The president’s 19-minute address interrupted ‘Survivor’ and ‘The Masked Singer’ but offered little beyond familiar talking points
Wednesday was quite the busy day for President Donald Trump.
He started the day by doing something no sitting U.S. president has ever done: He attended oral arguments at the Supreme Court. He spent about an hour listening to the government make its case against birthright citizenship — a topic that the high court seemed skeptical of limiting.
Trump then ended the day with a rambling and lethargic address to the nation from the White House, where he seemed intent on pushing back against the narrative that the war isn’t going well abroad or here in the United States.
