Last Sunday, Kristen Welker opened “Meet the Press” with a tease for that week’s marquee segment. “DIVIDED?” the show’s chyron posited. Democrats in Michigan, Welker’s introduction promised, were grappling to defend a U.S. Senate seat while their nominee, Abdul El-Sayed, faced fresh questions about his ties to a “controversial ally”—Hasan Piker, who hardly needs an introduction these days.
